All-Star Game 2013: Joakim Noah Dismayed

After the 2013 edition of the NBA All-Star Game, Eastern squad reserve, Joakim Noah (logging a mere 16 minutes), sat in the locker room looking like he just lost a relative. After several attempts for a comment, the Chicago Bulls center finally uttered, “I just wish I knew what I did wrong,” his voice cracking, as he seemed to be fighting tears. The dejected defensive stalwart fiddled with a Rubik’s Cube and mentioned how he reiterated multiple times to coach Erik Spoelstra that he was game for his normal 40+ minutes, but the Miami Heat coached simply laughed him off. “I was only nursing a single injury – no big whoop,” Noah said, searching for words. “It just does not add up.” As the big man strapped on a weighted vest, saying something about a run he thought he “owed the basketball gods,” and added something about how “people were going to answer for this.” Last seen, Noah was jogging in a north-eastern direction, that some speculated was the approximate direction of Chicago’s United Center.
