The Road to Freedom (or The Battle of New Orleans)

Ah, the epic clash between good and evil, new and old, righteous and wicked has finally arrived. Ever since the schedule was released in December, the Bulls had their collective eye on the Battle of New Orleans. With household names like Gordon, Jack, Landry, Okafor, and Belinelli (which I think I served at the Olive Garden in college), this is a game not to be missed. Never mind that 2-3 of those future HOFers will miss tonight’s legendary clash, if you can possibly stitch yourself together, you do just that for this fracas. To play a regular season game against the Hornets in the middle of the week in February is the highest honor bestowed upon any gladiator.

Tis the reason for the reports speculating that Derrick Rose is fighting back spasms to represent the Chicago Bulls tonight. Naysayers point to the fact that the contest does not mean much, that Rose should sit out until he is closer to 100%, that championships are won in the playoffs and not the regular season, that a Gordon-less Hornets team may be the worst in the West, that he should take the next two off, as Friday’s game is against possibly the worst of the East (Bobbycats). I say, naysayers be damned!!! Surely beating the Hornets on a Wednesday night is second only to the NBA Finals in proving a team’s worth! I say, go forth, young Rose, break your back over 40 minutes of play and prove to everyone that they can take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR REGULAR SEASON WIN!!!
