I usually do not post about a single article written about the Bulls (I am so above that), but rarely does an article of this magnitude hit the press. The article I speak of is a piece that the Chicago Sun Times did on Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf. The article focuses on White House higher-ups urging Jerry to hire Tom Thibodeau in 2008 (when the honor was bestowed upon Vinny Del Negro) and again last summer. That tripe is hardly of interest to this hard working member of the press. Instead, the nugget of gold Jerry drops at the end has me rolling on the proverbial floor. Quote the owner, ‘‘If you don’t see something special in Derrick Rose, then you’re blind. We have an outstanding coach, an outstanding bunch of players, the team is deep, and if we stay healthy, we have an awfully good chance of winning at least four championships.’’
Yup, that’s right, four flippin’ championships! Not one, two, or even the vague “multiple.” Nope, four more rings for this Chicago Bulls franchise. Its about time!
The fun does not end there, as the title of the ESPN article on this same subject is, “Jerry Reinsdorf Senses Bulls Title Run.” I absolutely love that he “senses” it, as if he is a dog before a storm or John Matrix from Commando.
