Note Bulljive

  • The NBA is continuing their tradition of trying to expand the league’s influence overseas (at the expense of its players and teams) by announcing that Nets and the Raptors will play a pair of regular season games in London. Unlike the Japanese trips from times of yore, the NBA decided that March was the most convenient month to send two teams across the pond (apparently assuming both of the team’s playoff hopes are dim). These English games are in addition to the preseason Europe Live Tour that the Lakers, Knicks, and Timberwolves will be participating in. Other foreign soil fun sees the Nets in action once again, this time in the preseason and versus the Rockets in China. Luckily for the Bulls, there will not be any adventures abroad. Players of all professional leagues have never been hesitant to voice their displeasure of these escapades. The NBA finally axed the Japanese trip that saw two teams opening the season in the land of the rising sun, after many complaints that it resulted in a perennial slow start to the season for the teams involved. Always determined to expand the sport, David Stern is in talks to get a preseason game or two on the moon before the end of the decade.

  • Between negotiating a long-term extension with the Bulls and playing ball with the Pres, perpetually entertaining center Joakim Noah found time to offer some thoughts and insights. Regarding LeBron coming to Chicago, the always shy Noah said, “I reached out to LeBron… he did not reach back out to me. He did not want to talk to me, which is fine, I really don’t give a [crap] at all. I really don’t care. I think we have a really good team, and we’re going to be ready to compete against the Miami Heat.” He goes on to comment on Chicago’s biggest off-season signing, Carlos Boozer. Noah mentioned he is amped about the attitude and ability the dynamic power forward brings to Chicago. He finished the successful interview by wildly fist pumping and shouting in excitement.
