A soldier has fallen. One of our own. 12th Man Insanity™ appears to have gone the way of the dodo. The Bulls have reportedly signed journeyman and Kentucky grad, Keith Bogans. Chicago forwent sexier options like Tracy McGrady and Rudy Fernandez, and a batshit-crazier option in Delonte West, to sign the veteran swingman. However, it is still thought that a Fernandez trade is still possible.
It is said that Portland views the market for Rudy Fernandezes higher than other teams. Earlier in the week the Knicks dropped out of talks with Portland, signing Roger Mason instead. The Bulls were willing to offer James Johnson or a first round pick. Portland is said to want Bull’s forward Taj Gibson for the Majorcan, but the Bulls place too much value in the defensive power forward. With talks on life support, it looks like Portland over played their hand and are going to be left with an unhappy relationship. ¡Mierda!
For now the Bulls added another veteran to round out their lineup. The key for the Bulls was to secure someone who can come off the bench and hit a three. Being 35% from long distance for his career, the Bulls got just that. 12th Man Insanity™ was fun, but we knew it had to end sometime. It is best we all suck it up, act like professionals, and move on.
